Is there a rescue group in Spokane area?

Thank you all for responding! Who knew this could turn out so well. Maggie Mae has gone from ignoring Fillie to actually being Sheltie Buds with her! It's a dream come true! I'm going to post a picture of her at Photobucket and I'll be back with a link - she's so pretty! She's a little American and Canadian champion and her breeder is working on her ROM. I'm not exactly sure what that is except it requires five champions from her litters - I think! Her real name is Serenity Apple Acres Filigree (Fillie). I'll post a picture as soon as I can! Thanks again!!

I think this link will work - please let me know if it doesn't! I think she has the sweetest little freckled face!! http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x267/MaggieMae1207/DSCF0592.jpg

Oh my! What a looker!!!

I can't believe she had to be 'rescued' and taught her name and how to be in a house!!!? Looks like your family, MaggieMae and you are JUST what she needed. Love the name, and you must be so happy!
Can't wait to see pics of the two together romping in a snowfall, lol

I'm glad you found her show pictures - she's such a sweet girl! I'm still not sure what exactly the ROM is but the breeder said she will go down in the history of the Sheltie breed. We just think she's a sweet and lady-like pet!!!! :smile2:
ROM - Register of Merit

Bitches who produce at least 5 offspring that finish their championship and dogs who produce at least 10 offspring that finish their championship receive the ROM designation. Since females are more limited in the number of pups they produce than males are, their number is lower and I think it's less common for them to go ROM.

Thanks for the information. I know the breeder is happy about Fillie's pups - I think she said 2 finished their championships and a 3rd is almost there and two more are on the way! The breeder just left for a show in Puerto Rico!

I got intrigued by another thread here - about the preferred color for Shelties. Since Maggie Mae is a sable I thought maybe I loved sable most, but with Fillie being a blue merle - I think she's gorgeous with her soft eyes and cute freckly face! A friend has a bi-black that everyone thinks is a border collie - it makes her crazy after awhile when they tell her she got fooled. She is the breeder! It's fun to tease her about her "Border Collie"!
