I didn't read this entire thread.

But I wanted to say that my mom knew a man that had MINIATURE collies. No, not shelties. They were collies that were small. I am unsure whether they were truly shelties crossed with collies, or if they were collies that were bred down in size. They did not look like shelties however, not even big ones...and they were also big as far as comparison to shelties.

Where or how he got them I do not know, but he knew what shelties were and was quite clear that his dog was not a sheltie, but a mini collie.

Ok, good discussion point....knowing that many breeders are out their breeding "mini" whatevers......what truly IS the difference between a smaller stature collie and a Sheltie?

I think could prove an interesting discussion.....

I think this thread is somehow in the wrong location

And I think there is no need to bring back up a thread from 2010 when we have 100 Mini/toy threads beaten to death...of course that last part is JMO
