Is There any Hope for My Sheltie's Coat?

I have the Mason Pearson nylon/boar bristle brush. I use it on every grooming job... to spread the oils and stimulate coat growth.

I've actually had some great results using the Show Stopper supplement. It has helped bring my dogs back in coat extremely fast after a blow. One of my mentors, a handler, commented that she would never go without it. Using it helped a bitch she was showing stay in coat several months longer after a heat cycle. Paray shelties, ( and I say this, as he does not make a secret of the fact). Uses it as his sole coat supplement. Remember the beautiful Cirque? How long she stayed in coat? Alas, she is retired now. :( So, their are those who've had wonderful results with this supplement. :)

Gulp! I'm sorry....seems my side question took over the original post.

You were asking about your pup's coat......How old is pup and can you show a picture? That would really help us assess.

ta for now

Thanks for bringing the thread back on track, Barb

I see that she said her pup is over two years old.

Yes, I do believe that your dog still has the opportunity to grow in more coat. Making sure that your dog is on a very high quality diet, will also help in coat development. I believe that coat growing is all in the genetics. Some shelties are not in their full coat until they are 3-5 years of age.

Do you have some pictures to share with us?
