It's official!

I love her so much. And I try to hold her and play with her. I've tried toys, balls treats and she wants ZERO to do with me. I hope our training sessions help

One thing that I recall, thinking back to the "why does he hate me so much phase?" is something that our first trainer told us about and might help you and you could ask your trainer about is the whole "Nothing In Life Is Free" training philosophy.

We don't do it so strict now, but whenever he gets a treat or sometimes his dinner, he does something, even if it's just giving me a sit and a down. It's hard to get the boy on board with things like that hence the sporadic nature of it. But, I am also the only one who takes him to classes and does any training with him.... he is definitely much more bonded to me.

I too felt that it was harder to bond with Shelby. I think it was because she was 14 weeks old when we got her and she spent a lot of her time with the other dogs and cats.

I did and still do a lot of training with her and I think we have bonded pretty well. Definitely not at all like we were with Hollie but still pretty good. I was always sad that she never seemed happy to see us come home and she rarely sits with us or asks to be petted. Then I finially decided that this is just they way she is. She is a very independent little girl. She loves us and is happy to be with us but she doesn't need us to keep her entertained. Once I was able to accept that it seemed to make things a lot better.

I now accept that she is rarely going to be excited to see us when we come home, but I can tell just by the way she is standing at the door just waiting that is her way of showing her enthusiasm. Just like us our dogs have their own personalities, some more extroverted than others. So hopefully after this training you will have bonded more and then realize how close you have bonded and just never realized it.
