"Joe" has been missing since December - Churchville, MD

No news to update. We have not received any recent sightings since the last on 4/21. Still spreading the word through Facebook and Craigslist, as well as posting flyers and speaking with people. Hoping to get some positive news soon. Thank you for all your help!

Sounds like he has found a hiding spot. I have noticed in the past that people find them in a spot they can find water and have a hidey hole. You might explore the area for sources of water like drainage and ponds even with a fence. Also food though I think a couple have been found thinner as water is more critical. Good luck on getting Joe home and back on the path of a spoiled pup

This is great advise!

This breaks my heart! Praying for a sighting and getting him home ASAP. Please keep us updated. If I lived near you I would certainly help! God Bless!

Joe is on my prayer list every evening before I go to bed. I am praying for his safe return. Lord, please continue to watch over him and guide him safely home.
Thank you Lord.

Hmmm, can't seem to edit my own posts...

You might also try contacting Linda of the local Sheltie rescue http://www.ncsr-md.org/ She has helped organize the search for other Shelties. I know she helped find one lost in Dundalk. On the day we caught Kasey, in addition to the tracking team I had about 20 people all searching the areas he was seen in. We finally sighted him after about four hours. If you get a search party organized, count us in if I don't have to go to work that day.

One last thing, don't give up hope. Kasey was gone for 20 days when I organized the search party. On that same day a guy told someone in the search party that he just saw one of Kasey's posters. He said he put leftover ham and other meats out for the crows and that Kasey had been coming by for several days to eat it. I blanketed that area with posters and he said he never saw them until that day.

Last Nov the local newspaper did an article on lost pets. They emailed me for info about Kasey and he ended up on the front page. http://s177.photobucket.com/albums/...lties/?action=view&current=kaseyfrontpage.jpg but more importantly for you, another Sheltie was included in the story. http://www.yorkblog.com/pets/2010/11/lost-pet-tips.html Jassie was lost for six months. He was on the run for one month before a family took him in. They also said they had posters everywhere yet it was by luck that the people who took him in found his proper owner.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and advice. We have not had any news on more recent sightings yet, but we are keeping our hopes up. My mom really misses her baby boy! We used to breed shelties and she has had him since he was born. Thank you again and please continue to spread the word!
