We had our local sheltie speciality this Fri and the Lake Minnetonka KC in Jordan MN this weekend.

I was the obedience chair for the speciality and helped steward of obedience and rally. It went off without a hitch. I had 2 new stewards, one with no obedience experience and 1 with little and they were fabulous. It was pretty hot and I did a lot of running and learned to build my first rally course. My only compliant was after all that running around for obedience, the breed sepicallity was in a non A/C and the temps were in the 90's and I don't think I ever cooled off. I am sure if I haven't been so active it wouldn't been that bad. Oh well, in years past it has been cold and raining. You never know.

Cool thing is I made out like a bandit in the raffle. I won $160 of agility training vouchers for one of the places I go. WOo hoo and $75 for a place near my house I have never been(they do tracking lessons) so double woo hoo! Got a crate pad and 2 road kill rubber, non stuffing toys, 12 old sheltie pacesetters 1 from 2005 and 11 from the 90's. The cool thing is the 2005 issue is the year end and Justice was listed as the 34th obedience Sheltie in the US and #7 in Canada that year. That was cool because I didn't know that. :smile2:

We went back today to support a friend in showing and watch Leo. Birch, hung out with me and had a great time. He was so good. Didn't cause a moments trouble. It was 94 today but the shade of a tree and a nice breeze made it really nice. It was a 5 pt major and Leo won his class but that it all. A club member finished her Blue Merle Boy today with a 5pt Major WD/BOW-owner/handled big feather in her cap with all the handlers there and some really nice dogs.

Here a couple pictures of the boys.

Lovely photos of the boys, you must be so proud of them.:biggrin2:

Got to be jealous of the weather and temprature as it seems to do nothing but rain and blow a gale here at the moment:no:

Hard to believe Leo and Birch are 8 months already, both are stunning of course.

I am so glad all went without a glitch and boy did you clean up. Some nice prizes and how cool that Justice is in one of the editions you won! Seems it was a great day all around.

Sounds like an awesome weekend for you!

Sometimes I look at pictures and can't believe Leo and Birch are littermates. They look so different (though both are VERY handsome)

Yes Leo and Birch are very different types of shelties. Birch has a longer leaner head. Little larger eye. He was being a goon in that picture as well. He also does not have near the coat Leo does. Of course, it doesn't help that Leo was groomed and Birch wasn't.

If your wondering the ears are back in glue as I had to take them out for the show. Birch's ears want to stick up when he is excited , big old dumbo ears that they are. :smile2:
