Jordie and HGE

Sorry to hear about the loss of Jordie, words are empty in such a situation - but you did what you could to save him
 
Bloodwork is back... kinda

The good news for the other dogs is that Jordie wasn't poisoned. They don't know what the cause of the HGE was, other than no poisons were present in the bloodwork.

I'm depressed, but relieved at that news. Depressed because I gave all four of the dogs a little piece of cheese I was eating (sharp cheddar) Wednesday night. Other than that, the only food he had was his standard wet dog food mixed with a little dry dog food. He's been eating that for years.

Thanks to everyone for their sympathy and support during this trying time.

My heart just aches for you. Please believe you did all that you could for Jordie -- HGE is insidious.
 
I am so sorry for this devastating loss. There is nothing you could have done differently. This is sudden onset no known cause. PleSe remember that you did all you could do. God bless
