Kip's Sunday Morning Hike

What cool places to be able to hike through! Kip is so gorgeous - love seeing another bi-black! He does have the same 'rusting' at the ears Brodie has but Kips coat is way, way fuller than Brodie's. Hard to believe he is so much younger!

Oh, a birthday party - fun!!!! :)

she's in Hawaii- I think we should all visit sometime
Sure, come visit, as long as you all bring your Shelties!!
Btw - where are you that you have a Guava forest. Never heard of one.
Yes, I'm on Hawaii Island (AKA the Big Island). There are tons of Guava trees here. These ones are Strawberry Guavas. They are an invasive species that can grow so closely together that they choke out all the native vegetation. But they do have delicious fruit. They are small red fruit, way tastier than the big yellow common guavas.

would love to bring them all - but wouldn't they have to be quarantined before getting to explore in Hawaii?

Yes, and so would you:)

Humans have to be quarantined 2 weeks for COVID, but if you do everything right, dogs can be quarantined for 5 days or less. Hawaii is rabies free, so we have strict quarantine laws. But if you have your dog vaccinated & tested in advance, and do all the paperwork correctly, the dogs can complete their 'quarantine' period while on the mainland at home (or wherever you're coming from).

When I was in college, I did one semester at the University of Idaho. I brought my dog, Jessie with me. I was very stressed out about getting the dog import process done correctly (for returning to Hawaii), but it all worked out. She qualified for direct airport release. A vet inspected her as soon as we got off the plane in Hawaii, and then she was free to come home with me.

cool- I didn't know that you could do the quarantine for the dogs before actually getting to the islands........
If we were to ever come, it would likely be after this isn't the issue that it currently is.....
