To get Deska to work away from me I put the xpen between us so he cannot get close. Its also important not to have the treats on my body - instead I have a container with treats I leave on his side of the xpen (Deska is very treat focused) so sometimes I throw him a treat from my side and other times I lean over and get one from the container, then he doesnt always expect the reward to come from my body. This way he learns to pick up cues from a distance and so do the actions at a distance - its still a work in progress for us.

Good point about the xpen. I have one I can use too. Granted, it's not overly big, but honestly, it'll help. Just need to get out and work. Can't wait to move. Gawd I hope I don't get in trouble for using the park. I may have to get a long line. I trust Koji and I don't.
