Laddie Got A Bath....And Liked It!!

It was time to give Laddie a bath - his first with me. This is the guy who only likes "brush me in the bathroom". Well, I prayed he wouldn't turn into "Sheltie Ball of Fury" in the tub..and off we went. He likes the bathroom so it was no problem to get him in. I had the towels, shampoo, etc. ready ahead of time. Picked him up and put him in the tub and gave him a little piece of cheese and a "good boy". The main event was that he wouldn't bolt when I turned the water on. Nope, he just sat there, watched me, and really enjoyed getting his wash. After I did his front half, I gave him another little piece of cheese and a "good boy", then did his back half. He loves the towel dry. He got an initial brush out in the bathroom. I let him dry up some (it was a lovely 75 in San Diego) and was able to get him to let me brush him more on the bed (so he can lie on his side and it's easier for me to do his legs that way). After he was done, I did Katie, who loves a bath and actually lies down in the tub and waits for me to get the water ready. I have the Waterpik adjustable shower head on the hose, which is great for giving them baths. When they are all rinsed out, I put it on the massage pulse and run it up and down their backs and on their legs - they LOVE it!!
Well, I was glad my Sheltie Man enjoyed himself, and they were both showing off on how good they each looked!
BTW: I have been using the Pantene shampoo (that I use for myself) on my dogs for years. It lathers nicely, washes out clean and leaves their coats shiny and soft. Plus, they smell wonderful - not that weird doggy smell from dog shampoos. I use the daily clarifying formulation - just a little lathers up beautifully.
Now I have two gorgeous shelties! Yes..I promise...pix to come and I will master that digital camera yet!!

It's always so much easier when they don't make a fuss isn't it? I've never had a problem with any of my shelties and baths. I would get the "look" from a couple of them, you know the one that says" aw geez I have to do this again again"? Well OK. You know I'm not happy about this but I'll do it anyway, just for you". It's so cute how they strut around after they're all dried and fluffed. It's like they actually know they're looking gooooood! By the way that Waterpik option sounds good to me too.

Lucky, a bath annoys him, Lady loves her bath. Lady is annoying to wash:lol:
with her coarse hair, it takes forever to wet the coat down. Then it takes forever to rinse the soap out. Lucky has a silky coat and it goes a bit faster, lucky for him eh? After a minute he realizes it must be done, it will be done.

That is great your furkid loves the bath, it makes a happy bath time.

We just returned from a trip and the rain I think is over so its bath time for the L&L.

The only problem I have being bathing dogs is my back.....!!! The dogs are fine, I'm not!

My breeder uses Pantene also. Maddox stands there calmly but Amber on the other hand, tolerates it but whenever I turn my back, she'll try to run lol.
