Lassoing the puppy

Last week at our training class, the trainer said, "Ok, lets take them off lead". So I did. But Rocket was in his, "nah, nah, nah can't hear you" mode. So he refused to listen to any commands. And he wanted to play chase the puppy. Finally, the trainer made a lasso out of the leash and got it around his neck to lead him to me. As soon as he figured out the thing was around his neck, the games were over. He made a beeline for me, ran up my body, and had one leg on one side of my neck and the other on the other. He couldn't kiss me fast enough, and his tail was just wagging. The trainer and the other puppy's family were cracking up. The trainer said, "MOM- did you see what just happened to me?"

too funny:lol:
Destin is like that - perfect angel on leash or longline- comes to you every time you call him........
but once he knows that he is free..... that is a whole other story:rolleyes2:
I spent a week with a slip leash, clicker and cookies teaching him "lasso" where I could slip the leash over his head without him running away:pop we also worked on him jumping into my arms which is his preferred method of coming.....
at 3.5, he's pretty good now.....

:yuckyuck Ha, ha, love the you can't catch me scene! So sweet when the lick fest happened... I would have cracked up to!

:gaahGosh, these pups can be exasperating at times!

:biggrin2: LOL
