I’m trying to just make some 3 and 4 ft leads and if someone wants a specific length they can request. I’m assuming smaller breeds would need a longer lead. I do recall with Piper a 4 foot was too long. I’m going to pop in to Marilyn’s tomorrow so I’ll get some tips from her...going to take what I’ve made so far in. I’m also making training tabs. I must admit I’m becoming addicted to this lol!
Made his one this evening...it’s a box knot with a crown knot finishing it. Started with 4 feet of paracord and finished its 6”! Working now on one with 20 ft of cord lol...

Started with 4 feet of paracord and finished its 6”! Working now on one with 20 ft of cord lol...

Lol - I made some tug toys with a box braid. They ended up a lot smaller than I expected.

What is the braid you did on the first ones? I could make some nice tugs for Kismet using that knot. The box braid is too thick and the three strand braid I was doing (like when you braid hair) just doesn't look right.

I hear you about the box braid! I just did this lead, started with over 10 feet length of paracord (actually 40 feet all told) and ended up with a 2 1/2 foot lead. Why I did it I have no idea plus it took me a day to do! Looks good though also has a triple manrope knot at the top.
The other braid is the 4 strand diamond braid...easy to do.

LOVE the bronze leash - it is stunning! Classy!

We're into slip leads here, with matching regular 5" leads. I use Blueberry brand leashes and collars - all matching but different colors per dog.
Brodie's color is royal blue and Deacon is grey.

The box knot is beautiful but looks too bulky.

I’ve had 3 orders so far for leads (the satin cord) and today I bought a lace cutter for making leather braided leads…looks like I’m all in lol!
I wanted to try the lace maker before buying a side of leather and finding I couldn’t work it. Good news is it’s easy to use. I got all this lace from maybe a 12” square piece of leather! Much cheaper to do it yourself rather than buying lace!
