I always have read that dogs do not have self-awareness when they see themselves in the mirror - that they think it is another dog. I believe it is said that only elephants have proved self-awareness in a mirror.
From the way Aztec looks at himself in the mirror though, I am almost positive he knows it is himself. He can never walk by a mirror without admiring himself.

When Kia sees herself in the mirror she barks and sometimes growls at herself ! What a hoot !!
