Depend totally on how the pup travels, My Cosmo got sick in the car from day one even on short trips on the 2 hr ride home at 12 weeks he got sick 3 times.
He continuse to get sick even now on a rare occasion at 2 & 1/2 years but nothing like when he was a pup he still is tepid getting into a car. By contrast storm has never been sick in the car, has travelled many hrs at a strech, and jumps right in as soon as you open the door.
