Loving being outside too much...

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions. We do work on "come/recall" in the yard all the time and she is good about it. It seems if I call her from the door to come in, she comes as close as coming up onto the top step then turns around and says "not yet, I am not ready". I will try going out into the yard and work on recall and catch her that way in the mornings. I will probably have to pick her up and carry her in since if I have the leash in my hand she will probably only do a "drive by"... Ugh...
Or I am going to hook the long training leash on her. I hate to have her dragging it around because my trees all have large (8"-10" x 6-9") rocks/boulders around the bases of them. I would worry that the leash would get caught on the rocks all the time. Hmmm

We have a very large paver patio and the lawn is off to the right side. I don't know how we would be able to split up the yard very easily. We did have the one end split off (20' x 20' section) to grow grass - but the other section we would have to fence off along the patio and that would not work.

She gets a peanut butter filled kong in the morning before I leave for work. This morning and last Friday I showed her the kong to try and convince her to come in. It got her up the steps, but not all the way in. Today was much better than Friday, since after she came up the first time & realized I had the Kong she decided to come back up on the porch and walk in. I don't get it, she picks up every other habit from my lab - why can't she get this one?

I tell her all the time that she is lucky she is so cute, because stuff like this is going to drive me crazy. LOL I adore her so much.!! Adolescence stage is not fun...

By the way, I was in the garden on Saturday weeding and all of a sudden I found Sabrina next to me checking out what I was doing.... My garden is built up high using decorative retaining wall blocks, then there is a 2-1/2' fence attached on the inside of the garden. If she jumped from the ground, she would have had to jump about 4' to clear it. If she jumped from the top of the retaining block - it would only be 2-1/2' but she would have no running start, it would be from a stand still... Agility is going to be easy for her! Needless to say she got in trouble. She was trying to be sweet and be with mommy, but she got in trouble instead. Whoops.
