The Whole Dog Journal magazine is a great resource for everything natural, including making your own food, and they frequently discuss diets for medically challenged dogs. I've been getting it for years, and I highly recommend it. Once you subscribe, you can go to their online site and search back articles about feeding and receipes. The website is http://www.whole-dog-journal.com/.
There are also a number of books dedicated to making your own dog food. If you search Amazon (be sure to do it through Sheltie Nation so we get credit) you'll find a wealth of doggie cookbooks. Good luck!

Hi Leann, I'm also sorry to hear about your furkids. I don't have any answers or information that the others have provided but I will keep your family and Star in my thoughts. Please do keep us posted as to how she is doing.

I am sorry to hear about Chance.
My boy, gavin, has had 2 surgeries in the past 3 weeks. One for sarcoma and one for mast cell tumor. Radiation is on the schedule for the sarcoma, but his mast cell tumor wound is not cooperating at the moment. Its a mess!
I don't know that I got any sleep the first 3 weeks due to worry and stress. Now I don't get any sleep due to hyper-vigilance with wound monitoring!
It is heartbreaking, overwhelming, and stressful.
Come here to complain, cry, and commiserate as much as you want.
