Madan Brush

I've been getting by with a CC 27mm pin brush and a cheap slicker for far too long. Time to order a few new items for grooming bag. Which firmness of Madan is recommended for Shelties? Also, what about slicker brushes? I would like to find one of the really small ones to use on ears. Vader is looking like a wild man these days, so I'm going to have to start cleaning up the back of his ears.

The firmest (black with red cushion) are recommended for Shelties.

I use a comb on ears.. or the pin brush. I bought a slicker brush but I almost never use it. Although Missy's coat isn't nearly as dense as most Shelties.

I don't know the firmness, but I have the pink one.

I find the black one a bit too firm. I like the green one. I have both the darker green in the oblong shape and the lime green which is rounded. I use that for daily brushing. The dark green one has slightly longer pins which are great for really brushing out the coat.

See, that just makes my head spin! I have a CC pin brush that I got at a show last year. It's a 20mm I think, so it was probably $22 (I think the prices were the same as the website). I do like that the Madan brushes have silicone on the handle.. that's probably nicer than the wooden CC brush. Hmmm you're feeding my shopping addiction here.

Well, clearly you need the black one AND the green one! If it makes you feel better, I have two in dark green, and one each in lime, purple, and light blue. So shop away!
