McKinley's Digestive Issues

I agree with everyone else, its time to switch to a different food. You may want to try one with an alternative protein source such as duck or lamb too.

My parent's sheltie has a VERY sensitive stomach but he's done very well on Wellness Lamb. My three are doing wonderfully on Orijen, which is grainless but I don't know if that would be too rich for the issues MMM is having. Acana might be good, its not quite as rich and has lower protein.

Sca eats Innova Red Small Bites and only gets 1/2C twice a day. He is 18" and 31lbs so likely bigger than MMM. He is outside all day and active at night playing frisbee. I cut WAY back on treats as he used to be 33lbs which was to heavy. So a cup a day is good for him at 1.5 he would be fat so maybe it is just going through MMM instead of on him.

Who bought Innova?

Serendipity used to have very similar issues - she would have horrible diarrhea about once a month. We tried every high quality food on the market, with no success. When I got Starr, the breeder recommended Fromm's Four Star Entrees (which I had never heard of - we have to order it in). It's an all stages food, so I put both Starr and Serendipity on it...and what a difference it has made. I've had her on Fromm's for almost a year now, and in that entire time she's only had diarrhea once, and it cleared up very quickly. Starr has never had any digestive issues at all. Good luck - I know what a problem constant diarrhea can be!

Ok - maybe I'm missing something here. Did Innova actually change the formulation? If so, then I agree that this may be the problem.

But if they did not, I can't imagine why the food would suddenly cause him digestive upset. So I can't see changing without a proper transition.

Could it be the move? Or perhaps different water? I've heard that water changes can cause just as much problems as food changes.
