Meet the family

Chai is a very cute puppy and personally, I believe there are no ugly pictures of a Sheltie, Shelties always look good (especially puppies)! Piper also had a very sparse coat when he was younger then around the time he was 7-8 months it started to thicken and now at 11 months he's got such a full coat it takes me an hour to brush him.

I took Chai to get his 12 week shots... Not a whimper.

Tough little fellow, it was kind of funny. He was given a dog treat to distract him from the needle poke. He had the chew in his mouth, and when the vet gave him the shot, he spit out the treat in the same instant and gave it the stink eye. He had crumbles of the same treat in front of him, he finished them but wouldn't touch that one chunk...

First check up on the 2nd of Feb his weight was 4.2 pounds...today he was 7.5

You can never trust those devious treats!! Shelties tend to be very stoic and it looks like your little Chai is living up to his Sheltie genes.

That's too funny, I remember the vet giving Piper a treat the first time he had a shot and he ate it but the next set of shots he remembered and wouldn't take that treat from her haha. Also, that's about how much Piper gained back then so good weight gain.

Chai is the runt of the litter and the only Tri-color. I have no idea what size he will be, the other pups were at least 4 inches taller at the shoulders. I love the coat of his dad, his mom looks like she has a much shorter coat... I read that females do.

I did the same thing with Atticus, always wondering what he would look like as an adult. Shepherd colors change as they age. He was very black with just a hint of tan on his legs, the breeder thought he would stay black. Now that he is grown, he has so much brown that it's hard to believe he used to be so dark.

I'm taking pictures of Chai each month so I can see him transform as he grows. I wish I had done that with Atticus and Tamerah...I have lots of puppy pictures of them, just not each month.
