Member map

Callismom -if I click on your name I get 3 options, maybe it can work if you choose the best of these options !!

Only a friendly question:
It is not possible to make it so that you can click on the icon and you then view the location on the map - it would seem more logical.:wink2:

are you clicking my name in the new User Map or the Old Zeemap?
when I click my name in the new User Map, it brings up my profile page.

the Zeemaps seems to be more customizable with the ability to change colors/markers etc.......

I click on your location - then I came to the new User Map.
Because I can´t post pic of "print Screen" I will try to pm you if I can post pic there :wink2:

I definitely agree with you, I also found the old version was much better, for example, with the features you mention
- personally I think that the old Map was more manageable because you saw more of the world map - - the new Map, it is difficult just to find Europe not to mention Denmark:biggrin2: and not least, does not need the exact address in the avatar, it's something you do on the map.

I like the personalization available with ZeeMap but this one isn't too bad.

I was playing around with it a little and found that when I changed my location to Pittsburgh, PA the map placed the pin in, roughly, the middle of downtown Pittsburgh. (I really zoomed in to see this.) I changed my location to my actual town, which is approximately 7 miles east of downtown Pittsburgh, and it placed the pin in the middle of my town. Perhaps that's what it's doing for Mobile, AL?

I found Hanne very easily in Denmark. The trick is to zoom in on the map.

A very cool thing this has over ZeeMaps... since it uses Google Maps, you can drop the little person icon on a members location and take a look at what their area looks like with Google Street View. Rather cool actually.

I think that there are pros and cons to both maps. I do lean toward liking ZeeMaps better. And forgive me if that has already been said... some people may not want their location known ( I personally do not care.) On ZeeMaps you had to put your own information on there willingly. The new Member map you do not have a choice unless you change your location on your user profile (Correct me if I am wrong though). That can seem a little frustrating for some people.

OK, we will look into a possible ad-on upgrade to the software that might have more features. Matt is on holiday right now, so we will look into this when he returns. :)

How do I add myself to the new map? I only recently figured out how to add myself to the old map :D. Sorry if I'm being a bit dense, but I just don't see how it's done.

Unfortunately we can not in the new map - the system automatically displays the location you have written.
So we will have to wait as Kelly writes:cry:

We purchased a map upgrade ad-on that I hope everyone will like!

It is permission based, so you need to turn it on if you wish to participate.

First, go to your profile and click on "privacy". Once there, click "members map" and put in your location. You can be as specific or general as you wish.map.jpg
Then click save.

After that, click "preferences" from the sidebar and choose to activate.

You're now done and should be able to see the other members on the map. You can find the map at any time from the tab at the top of the page.

Hope you all like the new map!
