Spencer is microchipped and the cats (who never step a foot out of the house) are also microchipped. Of course all the cats were adopted from the MSPCA and we chip all dogs and cats before they go to their forever homes. Like Calliesmom mentioned, keeping the chip registry updated with any change is very important. We've had animals brought in to the Adoption Center who when scanned have a chip, but all too often when we call the registry, we find out the chip is registered to a pet shop that has no idea who the owner is. I don't get that at all, but I don't get pet shops either.
