I don't understand: why do you need to show and finish Maia? Surely not for the breeder's sake? Did you sign a contract that said you would finish her?

Yes for the breeder's sake. I really like her. She has been very supporative and helpful to me. She calls and emails all the time to see how I am doing and how the dogs are doing (only Maia is from her). I may not understand it either, but it is important to her. Although, she knows how stressed I am over this and has emailed me over the last two days and told me not to stress - it's not the end of the world, that I don't have to show her at this show, I can wait until I feel more comfortable or even not show her at all. You see, she's super nice and understanding and that is why I want to do it, for her, so that Maia's dam will get her ROMC standing, apparently it's a big deal. She let me have Maia even though she was origionally going to keep her herself. I feel a bit obligated to show her now.

I wish! Life would be so much easier for me if I could just 'let go' as people tell me and relax. When I was younger and would go to the bars with my friends, my friends did not let me be the DD, because as they put it, I had to have 2-3 drinks first in order to relax and dance, otherwise, I never got on the dance floor. Maybe that is why God put Maia and Chinook in my life - for me to learn to relax, have fun and gain some self-confidence by taking them to shows, agility and rally-o?
I'm sorry you're having a hard time at the shows. By the way, what is ROMC?
Its Register of merit (Canadian) Its a title a sire or dam receives after having a certain amount of Champion Offspring. (im not sure if the # of ch required is different in Canada than the US).
No Ania's dogs dam needs only one more of her offspring to finish her Championship to be an ROMC (if I remember correctly its just one). It is only given to producers of the breed that have Conformation titles, not for agility or anything else. Also neither the dam of sire need to be a CH to have the ROMC title. there are several dams and sires I know of that havent been shown that are ROM or ROMC's(its ROM for the AKC).
