Miss you Scout

It has been almost 6 weeks since we had to put down out beloved, handsome 12 year old Scout due to cancer. It was so sudden, he was such a happy healthy Sheltie until mid June when he started losing his appetite - and that was no small feat for Scout@!!! The first few weeks were really rough - I kept looking for him on his favorite spots & listening for him to scratch on the sliding door to be let back in the house. But he is happy & pain free now - jumping and playing with his feline pals that crossed the rainbow bridge before him. I still miss him everyday and though I am now ready to welcome another Sheltie into our family, Scout will always have a piece as well as a place in my heart. I need to sign off now as I am starting to tear up. Farewell my friend, you were the best and well loved!!!! You are in a better place now and I will always miss you!

I'll ask Winston to check in on Scout from time to time. I'm sure they have a lot of Sheltie things to discuss while they are waiting for us to join them again.

Just remember that a new Sheltie is not a replacement, but a tribute to all the Shelties that came before them. You may find that to fill the void Scout left, you might need to get two. (That's what we did.)

I'm so sorry to hear about Scout. He's in a better place and free of pain. May he be welcomed at the bridge with happy barks from all the rest of the sheltie angels as he waits for you to come for him.:hugs
Rest In Peace sweet Scout.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby, Scout. It is never easy to lose them, but even harder when it is so unexpected. Now, he can run free and play pain free at the Bridge while he waits for you to join him. RIP Scout.
