Missing California Sheltie

Thanks! Still no sightings though. Started searching again at daybreak. I biked while my husband drove around. There were many early risers walking around too. But still no sign of him. :confused2:
 
spoke to a lady this afternoon during my search. she said she saw Monty a week and a half ago on Dixon Landing Rd.

then a lady we spoke to during our evening search said she saw Monty more than a week ago on Washington Dr.

so will post some more flyers in those areas. hopefully he is staying in that area so we can find him.

please spread the word specially if you know of anyone in Milpitas, CA
 
That is positive news! We'll continue praying for Monty's safe return. Is there anywhere in that area you could safely place a trap?
 
animal expert said to put a humane trap out since Monty won't approach people. but the animal shelter said the city will not allow me to put a trap on a property i do not own like the park. so how will i be able to catch him?

we have not seen him ourselves so there is no way we can even hope to catch him without a trap. we searched again this morning but did not see him.
 
I know how frustrating it can be. I had an escaped sheltie on a neighboring property in the country. The owner refused to let me put a trap out just at night even when I promised to watch the trap & make sure it was closed in the morning when her dogs were let out. They want you to catch the dog but stand in your way when you try. Like we can wave a magic wand & make them appear where we want them!

Even though animal control said the city won't let you set a trap it doesn't always mean that's set in stone. Contact whoever runs the park where you want to set the trap. See if they can help you. Also find out who is the power for the city- mayor, council person, etc. Appeal to them for help saving Monty. I'd even contact the local tv station & see if there is an animal loving reporter that will help broadcast your story. Maybe gentle pressure will get a positive response.

These are great suggestions. We have several TV reporters in our area who always broadcast missing pet information and photos as well as updates.

It also might be worth contacting any local rescue groups. They frequently have traps and volunteers who are willing to help. We had great help from several groups when we had to catch a runaway Sheltie in Massachusetts.
