Praying for Bandit's safe return.

Missing from Nova Scotia, Bandit

Have you enlisted the help of a scent hound like a bloodhound? Or install night cameras or wildlife cameras by the live traps to see what comes by at night? Or a super friendly dog to lure out of hiding.

Oh, please don't go into the gypsum mines by yourself! There are coyotes back there! We don't even know if he is there for sure! I don't know how to private message yet, I'm just new on this site and am just getting use to it. Oh, I hope you see this before you go, I don't want anyone getting hurt! I won't be around Tuesday, I have a medical appointment out of town.
A woman had come from Chester, twice, with her dogs (retreivers I think), that's a long way, and we didn't even have a sighting. Maybe if we get a sighting soon we could organize a search party? And if we don't get a sighting soon, maybe we could organize a search party for the gypsum mines?
If you've been on the NS Lost Dog Network (an amazing group!), then you would see my name on there, feel free to message me on facebook any time. I have also been in contact with two women in NS (one in Windsor, the other in Yarmouth), who lost their shelties (at the same time) for several months. They have also been an amazing source of support.
Now I'm going to worry, I'll go on the computer first thing in the morning, and hope to see a message from you, either here or on facebook.
I really appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. I never realized just how awful it feels to go through this. I certainly do now. My little Bandit is on my mind 24/7. WHEN he is home, I am going to tell him all about it!

I am also not in the least scared of coyotes or whatever else wildlife we may have. But don't worry, I won't go, especially if it causes you distress, but it's just awful to sit here in Halifax and do nothing!!! I have certainly been thinking about Bandit ever since I read about him on the Nova Scotia lost dog network (I met one of the founders/admin people through my Instructor and friend Adina at the last dog show) They are indeed amazing people, and it's a really awesome tool which I hope will bring Bandit home!

I have been in touch with Linda and we hope she may be able to organize a search party in the area.
good news is that we have had unseasonable, lovely weather lately and it rained enough as well so Bandit definitely should have water and there should be shelter around there as well... It's a pretty rural area and there are abondend cars and old buildings and other stuff near that quarry, so there is definitely lots and lots of hope!
I am not a praying type, but any and all prayers are appreciated, it's bothering me so much, it's just too close to home and all I can think omg what if that was Toffee? :sadsmile:

Sorry for freaking out, I definitely am afraid of the coyotes, and also the sinkholes in the quarry, a lot of them are very hard to see. My father fell in one the other night, must have been close to 2' deep, he is ok, but at first he was sure he broke something. And I will admit I am a very nervous person, esp with things like coyotes, so I may have overreacted, sorry about that. I would just feel like such crap if anything bad happened! But I am thinking a search of the area would be good, and would like to arrange something with maybe a dozen or so people, paired up. Never arranged anything like that before, but am willing to give it a shot!

I hope it never is your Toffee, but if it ever is, count me in, I'd do whatever I could. The support I have had, from people I have never known, is absolutely amazing. I've decided that once I get my boy home safe and sound, and have him settled back in, I will do whatever I can to help other people going through this. Now that I know just how awful it really feels, I don't want anyone else going through it, and will do what I can to help other fur babies get home safe and sound.
