Missing my beautiful best friend

so sad

I'm feeling your pain.
My Joy just turned 11 & my wife & I have finally accepted the fact that she's probably only got a few years left. Right now she's limping around with a sprained right front paw due to the dogs going bananas while the plumber was here the other day (Gage & Jacks wildness & energy can be too much for her sometimes)
I've been carrying her up & down the stairs & no walks for the last few days and I'm realizing this sort of thing is gonna happen more frequently from here on. I am going to be DEVASTATED when the time comes to cross the bridge. Joy & I have a "very" close bond -she was our 1st sheltie & was alpha in the pack until about 6 mos ago (she chose "me" when we went to the local pound).
My heart goes out to you & yours -at least you can take comfort in the fact that you gave your pup a happy comfortable life full of love. That's more than a lot of dogs ever experience.
