"Mom, I Want to Go Home!!"

I am sorry it isnt his love but i am proud of you for listening to his interests. My last boy wasnt cut out for the competitive obedience either. i had to concede to his temperament.

Colonel underpants is lucky to have an owner who is willing to listen to what he is wanting to do instead of just what the owner wants to do. There used to be a guy in our intro agility classes who would get frustrated and drag his dog around by the leash. It's the worst.

My willow was off agility competitions for about a month. She would literally sit next to the weaves and looked at me. Also, while still loving attending classes. So we didn't compete for a few months and it was only at her trainers urging that I put her back in one. She loved it and did great. So maybe try again in a few months, he might just not be ready to compete yet.

I know you were excited to get Beckon back into Rally after so long but not all dogs enjoy actual trials but love class settings. It sounds like a good call to limit rally to just classes with him if he's stressing. If it's no fun for him it's no fun for you. I wish other handlers with 'get it' with their dogs.

We have a lady with a large, and overweight, yellow Lab. She keeps trying to make this poor boy do agility and you can see in every bit of his body language he hates it. But he LOVES rally and obedience work. Unfortunately for the Lab it took multiple back injuries running agility , even at the lowest jump height available to him in CPE, for her to finally decide to stop agility. (And I believe she still toys with the idea of going back considering she talks about it regularly. :rolleyes2:)

Poor baby. Good thing he has a Momma who listens! At leaset he will have class to look forward too in the future.

Poor Colonel Underpants. Hopefully this won't ruin his reputation. ;)

And yay to you for knowing when to call it quits...even if it's for another set time frame, or forever. At least he has fun in class. That's good.

I know it was hard for me to quit agility. Trials were getting stressful for the two of us. Heck training was stressful. I know Koji loved it, but the other dogs, well, he'd be much happier to do agility by himself. lol. So, good for you! Especially knowing you only need two legs. I admit, the competitive side of me wished I could have finished up.

You're such a good Mom for listening and considering his feelings. So many handlers don't.

I can really relate! I wanted him to have all three titles, but that was about me, not him.:hide
If his mobility is up for it maybe try herding? For as much as Olive likes rally she has a totally different personality with sheep and it's a good bonding activity too.
