My first CPE Trial - Results

Congratulations

Way TO GO Sherri and Edan!!!!! I knew you both would do well and I bet you can't wait till your next trial. I have to try CPE. I heard from alot of my dog club SNEAK that it is alot of fun.A bunch of them went to the CPE Nationals last week in Mass. and did well.Yeah Sherri and Edan!!!!!!

I am looking forward to my next trial, which unfortunately will only be 1 day for me because I have other commitments that weekend so I won't be able to try and finish CPE Level 1. I need two more games, Snooker and Jackpot; the only two runs I didn't try this past weekend. Snooker is the only one played on Saturday and I won't be able to attend Sunday.

My only concern with the next CPE trial is I'll get to run Level 2 for everything else. CPE Level 2 introduces the Weaves and Teeter. We have a pretty decent weave but Edan is still not 100% sure on the Teeter but we are working on that.

CPE is where everyone in my club recommended starting because it is easy for a someone new to agility to get started and be successful. Everything about the environment is lighter. (This is my opinion based on the USDAA trial I helped at - but didn't run - earlier this year. It may or may not be true.)

I'm going to try to run TDAA (Teacup) agility in November also. I may eventually try AKC.

I had no idea that there were so many 'levels' and 'kinds' or categories of agility out there! I have a lot to learn I guess. (I wonder if it is any different in here in Canada?) I want to do it for 'fun' but I am so competitive that I don't know, I hope that does not get in the way of the fun part. I am looking into signing up for classes now, apparently there is a long waiting list.

Ania, I didn't realize there were so many other agility categories either since all they show on TV is Standard. I assumed there were different levels (a beginner, intermediate, and advanced at the very least) because it just didn't make sense to start someone green out on a difficult course.

What surprised me was the number of agility ORGANIZATIONS out there.

One of my friends who was there taking pictures posted this one of Edan: http://www.flickr.com/photos/harvestcoyote/3671107393/in/set-72157620580734529/. There are more on the way once the rest of them are uploaded.

If you want to see some pictures from the rest of the dogs, those are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/harvestcoyote/sets/72157620580734529/

Wow, Sheri! You and Edan should be very proud of each other with what the two of you accomplished. Looks like you are really hooked on agility now! I enjoyed seeing all the photos, but I have to say the picture of Edan going over the jump is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
