He was coughing in the morning so the vet gave him a shot today and Lasik.

Pray the Lasik works for him. He is going to be 13. I may have spelled Lasik wrong, its for his heart of course.

Completely understandable on the spelling. It's Lasix (furosemide) which is a diuretic. I hope he makes a full recovery!

The Lasix should make him much more comfortable. Our Rascal was dx'd with congestive heart failure when he was 12. He was put on Lasix. We did have to adjust/increase his Lasix dosage as time went on and finally at 14 1/2 the meds stopped working for him. So, he got well over 2 years of good quality time post initial symptoms and dx...and we cherished every day of that time.

Prayers for your Lucky Boy that he responds well to the meds and has a lot more quality time with you.

Thanks for your responses. I knew the med was coming because Lucky coughs every single morning. Lately it just got worse. I about fainted when I got the bill today. They got their heartworm med, ear stuff for Lady she gets alot of wax. Then the Lasix (thanks for spelling) and a shot for Lucky. Tests etc.. and my bill was $496.

The one thing that is great about these two all through the years we basically have only gone to the vet once a year. Lucky made two extra trips in almost 13 years. Equals out about $20 a month for care each a month. That is pretty darn good.
