My poor old Tri girl

Poor Della is having a really rough time atm. My sister is currently homeless and living with us with her 3 pets - a 2yr old female Golden Retreiver (35kg), a 13yr old male black cat (9kg) and my late mother's grumpy little 17yr old female ragdoll.

Della is now 13yrs old, 90% deaf, partially blind and with cognitive decline, relies heavily on Kismet and me for guidance; she is very old for her age (and weighs 6.5kg). Since they got here the black cat regularly hisses at Della and no one else (its got some blindness), and my sister's (unstable) Goldie has been growling. Then Tuesday of last week, after we'd all just come back from a walk, the Goldie attacked Della, grabbed her, shook her. Della's shoulder was dislocated, large bite marks (the skin seperated) and a bit incontinent. After almost a week in the ER Della is home now and thankfully improving although shaved on the top of her body. There are extra barriers up.

Then today the black cat saw my two dogs plus my Burmese cat in the doorway and launched itself at Della, poor Della ended up on the ground with a wild cat in full on attack mode. Then the Goldie is howling and trying to get thru the barrier. It was hell.

So my 4 pets and I are relegated to two bedrooms while my sister and her pets have the rest of the house. I'm tired and scared for my pets' safety. But then I worry about my sister's safety.
Families and consequences -- so sorry for all the trauma for all of you and poor Della.. As long as you are with Della she will be comforted and what with cats I mean Shelties are the good guys!!!

That is such a tough situation to be in and there's probably no answer that is perfect for all but as everyone has said it's Della's home so she deserves to be safe in it. Hope everything works out for you all and sending love and hugs from Montyland :hugs
