I have 2 Shelties Simba (3) and Shoka (2) as well as a 4 year old German Shepherd and an 8 year old Border Collie. Yesterday I adopted an 8 week old Border Collie/Kelpie cross from a rescue center. Shoka and my other 2 dogs are tolerating her. Telling her of when she crosses the line but otherwise ignoring her. my shepherd has been playing with her a bit and hasn't been too rough.
However Simba on the other hand is a different story. He has been actively seeking her out to nip and snarl at her. If she even walks towards him he straight away goes in for a nip. When she is in the puppy pen he growls at her if she sniffs through the bars. If he is playing out the back and she is out he ignores her but if I take her out for a wee he will nearly always have a nip at her. Now he isn't biting her but he is making her squeal and cry. My biggest fear is that if it happens too often she will become fear aggressive around other dogs.
Simba is my best friend in the whole world and I new there would be jealousy but he wasn't like this at all when I got Shoka. He only gave out to Shoka if Shoka tried to play with him or sniff his face. Any advice would be appreciated.
