Wow! That's a lot to take on for someone who hasn't trialed before but, like you said, you sure do learn a lot!

I did a lot of volunteer work at our trials (CPE and USDAA) prior to competing and its amazing how much you can learn but helping out. I also learned that I HATE scribing. I'd much rather be a Gate Steward than scribe any day.

I get too stressed that I'm going to do something wrong, miss a signal from the judge, or forget what a hand signal means.

I don't know any of the hand signals - so mostly I was a runner or bar-setter or tunnel corraller
