Exactly.

All five of mine are debarked. Four successfully, one I had done twice, and it grew back both times. Silly dog and her amazing healing ability... The vet in my area is quite good, people travel to get to her. She also produces consistent results.

It's not a bad thing, and it will get so hearing a real bark startles you. When my mother BC barks at me, I jump. I am fairly noise sensitive myself, I can't stand loud noises, so this is perfect for me.

She had a few when she got here a week ago. First, she was somnewhat skittish when off her leash, and would run away when you tried to catch her. However, this was a good week for her to be home, because my children were home for Thanksgiving, and there was someone with her at all times (except fora about 3 hours all week). She eventually figured out that anytime someone was going to grab her, she was going to get petted kissed, or wrapped in blankets, so she now comes willingly. In fact, I posted a video on the site where I show her responding to a command to come after only 6 days.

The only remaining quirk is that so won't "do her business" when on walks. In fact, on our first walk, she would not sniff even once. However, she is starting to sniff more, and nature should take its course eventually.
 
Hi and welcome to you and Sara. She is indeed beautiful and her softer voice is not a problem. My breeder did this with some of her dogs as well, although my two have their (ahem) full voices. :rolleyes2:

One thing caught my eye about your latest post though, is having your brand-new Sheltie off leash - please see today's SN picture and post about dogs getting away from their owners. I would not have Sara off leash in any place other than a fenced in yard, at least for a good long while. Many posts on the lost shelties tab here about the ones who spooked and take off.

Our Ally got away from us in a large open space when we first got her and it was really hard to catch her again. Gave me such a fright as we have coyotes around. Please, play it safe with Sara.

Enjoyed her pictures, especially wrapped in a snuggly blanket. Look forward to more posts and pictures. :biggrin2:
 
Beetle is debarked

My little bi black Beetle Bug is debarked and came from a breeder at 1 year old. We never would have done this to her, feel it is dangerous for her. We have twice "lost" her around the house. She went into another room and the garage, and we shut the door behind her. She was barking so loud in her little voice, but we couldn't hear her. We fear she could be hurt or in trouble and can't call us. We live out in the woods, thankfully she doesn't go past the driveway. Her big adopted "brother" Jack watches out for her. They both are the love of our hearts. Jack's bark is loud and wonderful. They both love to bark and we don't care a bit.

Of course Spitfire got locked in my bike trailer once and was hard to find because he did not bark like he can so.....
