Narmowen's diagram of Chris's poop chute

It does help quite a bit but I still have the problem with Sadie. Even though her poops are pretty solid they still some how get caught in the short hair that I've cut (even though its less than a 1/4 inch long) and long hair around the sides of the chute. I guess I could try cutting away more fur but I don't want it to be noticeable.

The poop-chute doesn't totally eliminate (no pun intended) the problem, but it does make it easier to snatch them little dingleberries.

The poop-chute doesn't work when I am a week late. OMG did we have a mess. Never ever did I have this problem with my boy.

My Lady came in, and I said you smell to high heaven. I looked on the step coming in and she dropped one of her large dingle berries. If she would just squat instead of walking and pooping at the same time, it would help! Thank goodness I lift up her tail and check her rearend.

We had all grooming tools out for her, the OL' 11 was shaped right into her butt, and even a bit larger. I worked on her for a very long time today. I'm suppose to get ready for the crowd coming for Easter. I quess you could say I was getting ready so their are't smelly tootsie rolls laying around the house.
OMG the thought.

Of course we used smell me goods afterwards.

I can't thank Narmowen enough!!! Chris, that is the best name!

Welcome back!!

Oh the dreaded "crusty butt" Most of my dogs pooh very efficiently, however my tinier girls seem to suffer the worse with this affliction. I trim the hair in the back area, but man if I do not clip often to keep the hair back there soirt..."crusty butt" appears,

Yes the dreaded crusty butt. My jewel was a neat freak, everytime she pooped she would automatically wipe her butt through the grass, or snow. Kia also does the sheltie poop shuffle but not as neatly as Jewel, and not all the time. Usually when the poop chute has just been redone.

I would hand over my eye teeth if she would wipe her butt. She just prances into me, clean me up. Dirty Diva, that all I can say about her. My male is like a cat, always cleaning paws, etc.. not this one. If someone would take her they would pay me cash to take her back.

Its a good thing she is my little treasure of joy.

Also handy to have around, when the poop chute fails, is baby wipes!

Because they are soapy and have built in moisturizers as well, they soften up the crusty butts nicely, which makes clean up alot easier.

My forever pup, Timber, was nasty when it came to his poops. As a last resort, I often had to take the scissors to snip off the mess.

I have the wipes, but this was beyond those. It looks like a groomer's corner for all the stuff I have. I didn't have to hardly do anything until I got this one. She got a poop chute, and I would really call it a major butt whack yesterday. She poops from her brains. Its not runny, like sticky tootsie rolls, that is the only way I can explain it.

If she wouldn't walk and poop, and have that coarse hair, and lots of it, I wouldn't have this going on with her. I have been so busy, I let her go just a little too long. Its my fault! I really believe the silky coat is easier to take care of all the way around. OMG its a good thing I love her to death.

This was the last resort!

Oh I sooo wish I would have found this forum and this post before!!! Blue was having dingleberry issues and I just took my clipper and clipped his whole bum down. Now it looks silly and he doesn't have the famed sheltie pants anymore!!
Guess now I just know better for next time and can do it the right way!

It is wonderful, because I sure did have a heck of a time with my girl. We just do the poop chute and its like magic. Its like an ol' II straight down. You can see how wide you have to go from where those tootsie rolls hang.
Lady is little so it is like a bit over an inch.

Lil' Lady is sportin her clean butt these days since I learned about the poop chute. Those pants will grow back, soon enough.
