Natalie has a bladder infection?

I will. The vet tech also suggested a small child's shovel attached to a broom handle. The thing is she is so close to the ground when she squats it is difficult to get anything under her.

I am thinking of lining the ground along the fence with tinfoil or plastic so that when she goes I don't have to be close to her.

I usually just slip a sterile cup underneath Bailey as she is in midstream . I do it from her side, between her front and back legs.

She doesn't even move, but I think that's just because she's had so many infections, so she is used to it.

Are taking her out on a leash, so she can't run from u?

Trying the leash- she won't go. She is such a little stinker. Maybe when she gets me up at 4 in the morning I'll get a good one.

Sounds like fun times over at your house!

Chloe goes low to the ground, too. I can't get a soup ladle under her. I use the tray from those George Forman Grills. It is nice and long so I can get it a lot easier.

I picked up a large basting spoon in the grocery store on Thursday. Finally got a sample this morning - not a lot but hopefully enough. I will be off to the vet with it and her after I see my own doctor for my B12 shot. Always something it seems lately at my house. Will update once I get the results. After changing my bed five times in the last eight days, I am just about ready to pull my hair out.

Just got back from the vet's. He did a good exam on Natalie and noted vaginal discharge. His concern is that it may be a pyometra (she is right at the time when they occur), even though there was some bacteria in the urine. The plan is still to go ahead with the spay on Thursday, it is needed more now than ever, and to have her on antibiotics for three days, have IV antibiotics on Thursday, and then a week's course afterwards. Not what I was wanting to hear. Prayers for Natalie are much appreciated, and also for her Mom, dealing with this right now.

Oh no! So glad the vet was able to check her out. I hope she has a successful spay on Thursday. Keep us updated. Feel better Natalie!
