The fact no one seriously injured or killed is amazing, including me. Had the trailer not separated it likely would have rolled me. As it was the force to separate bent a receiver hitch down a couple inches (something that would require a torch and a still need a lot of force) and snapped the safety chains (Dad always hated them for that)Soooo scary.
!!! I am so sorry this happened, Sheep! I'm assuming to BMW owner's insurance is picking all the costs up. And a broken rib -- man, you are so fortunate that was the only serious damage. What was that idiot doing anyway???
My guess he looked down for some reason. Phone, radio or to pick something up. About that time was when the truck had to brake hard. This is a MAJOR hassle for me and my side still is sore. I want to get back on the bicycle etc but turning the fracture into some thing worse because I was bearing down is not a good idea. As for the young fellow. Impacts me among the hardest but he was not impaired or denying it. Further he could have easily been killed or hurt from an honest error. Sometimes I grit my teeth but overall I hold no ill will towards him. Life happens and everyone was standing when stuff stopped.Holy
