New 2 yr old urinating all over house!

I agree with everyone and would definately confine his access in the house until he is housetrained. He may also have been kept outside so may never have been properly housetrained. Peeing on his food bowl is not unusual - he may be a bit possessive of food - its when he pees on your food bowls its a problem! It could also be a settling in period - at least he is feeling right at home (lol).

Neutering will definately help - altho it will take a while for the hormones to work their way out and he has already learnt about marking. One thing you could try (I think someone here mentioned it once) is to get another dog in your yard to mark the yard - then he will really want to mark outside and have no piddle left for marking inside! Also walk him everyday around your streets (esp areas where a lot of other dogs go) - this will help with the house training as he will get a lot of his marking (and pee) out when he goes on walks and then he may even work out that marking happens outside the home.

Thanks again

I will make sure to take him outdoors more often and have him go to high traffic areas where other dogs have been. If all of this does not seem to work, I will also look into the UTI thing. How interesting. I guess I never thought too much about dogs having them.

I know in my Nursing Home there are plenty of residents who get them and they are painful and do severe damage to the elderly. Anyway, I will look into all possibilities and all avenues. You are all so great. Thanks for your replies!
