New way to do a lie down

our trainer at sheltie school started Cranberry on down from stand so he'd lay straight down. we had to redo sit since the previous week at Petsmart puppy class we did the lure over the head to sit instead of the nice tuck sit that trainer said we'd need for obedience. he's not bad but still lots to learn :wink2:

Yep the rock sit vs the tuck sit. Another difference between pet training and competition obedience training. It amazed me the subtle diffences. I remember training and retraining so much on Justice.

hopefully, I can manage not to screw him up too much :smile2:
he's got great attention which I though all shelties had- we were playing ball one time at sheltie school- Cranman didn't see it so I had to go get it and he ran along with me, looking at me the whole time. Trainer is yelling reward that- I'm like 'reward what'- cause he's always watching me- thought it was natural and they were all like that. and she said she had to really work with her one sheltie on the attention and I should reward Cranman so he keeps doing it. anyway, he loves everything so if I can just keep it all straight, he'll be awesome

Ah what a good boy Cranberry is. :smile2: Justice had natural attention too. Ember and Diva needed major work. Somedays I think I'm about done with these moody girls.:biggrin2: But the more I train the more I find I'm always the problem.

Callie does pretty well too. when we took her Rally class, the instructor said that she kept her attention on me- I couldn't tell when we were heeling. but when I would try to walk around her- yeah, she'd get up to turn and keep an eye on me. the instructor said that females- especially ones who'd been bred could be leary of anyone behind them. I found if I walked a big circle at first so she could turn her head and still see me worked- then we shortened up so I can make a quick circle now :smile2:
