Nine months ago Kaylee lost her battle to cancer.

Thinking of her will happen for a long time yet. I just passed the 5 year mark of Chelsea's passing, and I think of her daily, stop and look at her pictures hanging in the hall, smile, and talk to her.

gosh i am so sorry. she was a beauty for sure. those ears and that sweet "i love you face"

That i love you face was the best. Nothing compared to her hugs. If I sat on the floor she would walk all the way up and rest her head on my shoulder like a person. Best hugs ever.

That's really sweet.

And a day hasn't gone by where I don't think about her. She was my angel. It doesn't hurt any less today than it did then, although today I remember so much more of Kaylee when she was healthy than when she was sick.

Two months later I found Lucy at the sheltie rescue. No one had interest in her but I was hooked! We adopted her immediately and she is the most grateful little girl you could ever imagine. I know Kaylee would be so happy to see Lucy in her new home and really helped us get through losing our amazing girl K-bird.

I miss her big, giant white feet and her hugs. She was my forever dog.

Kaylee

Posts like this always make me teary, Kaylee was lucky to have you, what a beautiful dog.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I had a Lhasa for 17 years and a Chow lab mix for 15years. My Bethoven, Lhaso, was truly a bad dog, but most of it was my fault for being an ignorant dog owner. Even though he peed in my house for most of his life and bit me several times I loved him. He was euthanized on Valintines day 2007 and Snoop, the chow mix December the same year. I thought I was going to die. I cried every day after Bethoven died. Four days after Snoop was put to sleep I was introduced to the wonderful of Shelties and I got Maverick. He is my soul mate. If I was to dream up a dog it would be him. Our second addition now Ryder an other Sheltie. Ryder a gorgeous dog!!! just does not have the same loving, affectionate, I would die for you master demeanor as Maverick. I love them both and either of them would be like losing a child.

Karen I hear you. Kaylee was my first dog. When she passed I didn't know how to cope, in between fits of just sobbing I started to bake.

I baked and I baked and I baked!!!! It was a good distraction. Then I spent my free time trying to find a new sister for Fiona, who was lonely and lethargic. Lucy (and now Maggie) have been so good for her. Me too.

After losing Bethoven and Snoop Now I have 2 dogs that I have raised from pups. I have the time. I have not worked in 3 years. Got laid off, then quit my next job, and then moved to the US for my husbands job. I can not work here until my husband gets his green card.
I have no family here or friends and my husband travels 70% of his time, so my dogs are literally my life:smile2: I talk to them all day long. I just worry that I will hear them talking back to me soon:lol:

Sheri I am so sorry for your loss. Kaylee was one beautiful girl. It is painful when we loose our furbabies my heart still aches for my first Sheltie Buddy and Lacey my Collie/Samoyed mix who I lost almost 4 yrs. ago she was my heart dog. I don't think we ever get over the loss but I pray your other pups will lighten your pain. Prayers to you.

Thank you Dawn. Kaylee was a gorgeous dog, we received complements on her every time we took her somewhere. She was a remarkable representation of how smart, kind and gentle Shelties can be. Not to mention protective at the same time, she sure did love to protect her family when another non-Sheltie came around, heh. The other girls certainly do help, especially her little sister Fiona.
