No Poop Today

Glad he pooped!

Bailey had some bowel issues the past few days as well. She had on and off loose stool for a few days and then didn't poop for 2 days...probably from the boiled chicken and rice. Rice constipates them.

I told her this morning that if she doesn't have a normal poop on our walk, she's going to the vet. Of course she had a normal poop after that!

This is something I will always worry about with Liam after his problems. Since I switched him to raw, once a day, twice maybe is all he goes, down from 4 or more times a day.

Glad to hear he finally went... and hope he goes again tonight!

This will happen to Lerwick sometimes, too. Usually when our schedule is interrupted... though sometimes there will be a day when he doesn't drink much water for whatever reason, and then the next day he won't poop, and will drink lots of water. In either case, after a no-go day, the next morning we'll have a "poo-pocalypse," where he'll either have an enormous bowel movment, or several normal ones in a span of a couple hours, and then he's back to normal after that.

"Normal" for Lerwick is 2 - 3 small movements. One after breakfast, one after dinner, and sometimes one before bed.

Is Tinsel still limping, or has that gone away too this morning?

No more limping today either. I'm waiting on an answer from a friend of mine about an orthopedist that she has used in the past. I figure I might as well spend my money on a specialist rather than at my clinic.

Everything appears back to normal I'm happy to say. He's shagged out beside me after entertaining his sheltie relatives.

Hopefully it never happens again, but just in case, try some kefir - the liquidy yogurt drink. We've used it (the humans and Olive and the cats) for the random, non-serious digestive issues that come around. More varieties of probiotics than in regular yogurt, and in higher concentrations, and very high protein/D/calcium for the calories. Olive would drink a whole jug if we'd let her, she has such a sweet tooth. :smile2: There's a plain variety, though; you could probably just mix that in with puppy's food.
