Nonstop barking in agility class

I can relate. Shelby does the same thing in class. She mainly barks to get the attention of the other dogs. I just work on commands and treat to try and keep her quiet. We start a rally class on Wednesday and I hope she is not too distracting. She is very easily distracted and responsive both visually and auditory. Once she is distracted it is very hard to get her refocused. I also will need to read that book.

Every dog has his different problems and get distracted anxious for whatever reasons. We have found in our training that it all comes down to Dr Seuss principle
" Can you do it in a box
can you do it with a fox,
can you do it here there,
can you do it everywhere":biggrin2:
these musings from the SG blog do not relate to barking only but as a training of distractions, distractability, annoying barking it is exactly same principle.... and we ask dog exact same questions each and every time- can you do it?

As or Control Unleashed reading cover to cover- good luck!:wink2: I have found it to be VERY VERY VERY difficult book to read and digest, usually after reading one chapter I had to put it down, I do have all her DVD's too. Some of it I found helpful. Behaviorist at facility where we train tells me she has seen a lot of really screwed up dogs came after CU training...go figure...
