Now Theo is having issues....

Well Theo's tests results came back and his liver is functioning just fine. All his blood work also came back just perfect. They said the next step is the neurologist. He hasn't had any more episodes which is great. I think we're going to stop all heartworm and flea again and just see what happens. I really don't know how concerned I should be since they only happen so very randomly. I have been talking with another vet in NC who specializes in cerebellum disorders and she assured us it's not cerebellar abiotrophy as that would happen more often. She says it might be episodic ataxia or perhaps seizures. That's why she said to stop all vaccinations, heart worm, and flea meds b/c if it's seizures they could certainly lower the threshold and cause them to experience them. I am a bit concerned about keeping the fleas away! It will actually be impossible so I'm not sure how to go about that. I guess lots of baths! We went to the beach this weekend and I just have to share a picture of Hadley! She LOVED it so much. The puppies were awful and tried to chase all the kids and birds, but Hadley just ran around looking beautiful.

Her coat has really grown out nicely!!!

Glad to hear things aren't getting worse and discontinuing vaccines, flea meds and heartworm meds sounds like a good plan.

As for flea control, you could try Nature's Guardian. Its all natural and I found it to be pretty effective, Sadie just didn't like the smell.

I tried that and it didn't work! The smell is powerful, isn't it? It worked before it got really hot, but then it stopped being effective :(

You can try sprinkling Diotomaceous Earth in his coat. Be sure to get the food grade stuff...it's completely organic and edible (you can even put it in their food) and will kill any insects on him. You can find it on Amazon and it's even inexpensive. There's info about it I posted on another thread here but I can't remember where! Just Google it.

I used it this year in my pen and sprinkled it on my plants too and there's not a bug in sight.

Tried that too! I think maybe I should do it every day? I have a 50lb bag!! It's sooooo much. I gave a bunch to my friend who uses it on her kitten and it works but maybe the key is to apply more every day?

LOL, I got a 50 lb bag too...it will last me forever, even sprinkling it in the yard! I did read that it needs to be reapplied after rain, so I think if you're putting it on Theo maybe you should sprinkle some on every day. You can also put it in their food and I've read that works too. Here's a link on it:

Oh and I nearly forgot...Hadley IS gorgeous! She looks terrific!
