Nutro- Natural Choice!

I have friends who feed it after I recommended it to them, there dog had developed a rash from food allergies and once she was switched over to Nutro's it cleared right up. I would feed it myself but Saidy has not had success with switching off her current Sensitive System dog food.

Hey you know, you do what you have to for Saidy's little tum tum . I have had Megan on Royal Canin puppy dry since she was 11-12 weeks old and she has thrived on it. I began mixing Nutro's puppy lamb and rice formula a few months back and she loves it.

I feed Nutro Natural Choice and my puppers LOVE it. I feed Ember the small bits and Phoenix the puppy lamb and rice. They both have beautiful coats, healthy skin, and great stools. I can say I'm very happy with it. I have thought about changing Ember's to the Nutro Natural Choice Active breed, but I wanted to talk to the vet first.

Too true, too true

I had Lucky on it, but he has a weak tummy I quess. He started barfing, and I asked the cashier what about the food, did they change the receipe? She said yes. That was quite a few years ago, and then that is when I changed to Wellness Mix 5.

I have to watch the protein on Lucky very closely. He can't have peanut butter. Its like a calorie count with him, but with protein. Lil' Lady nothing bothers her so far.

It's so amazing to me like people, animals digestive systems can be SOO different from one animal to another!

I think maybe when we get to the end of her current dry, I MIGHT start switching her to Natural Choice, we'll see, ha ha.

P&G recently bought out Natura which makes Innova, Evo and California Natural. Nutro is owned by Mars, Inc (the candy maker) which also owns Royal Canin and Pedigree. I wouldn't feed my dog any product that contains menadione (also known as Vitamin K3) and Nutro uses it in all of their products. Menadione is a synthetic form of Vitamin K. The natural forms (K1 and K2) is found in green leafy vegetables and helps with blood clotting, makes strong bones and keeps the arteries supple. Menadione has been banned by the Federal Food and Drug Administration as a human supplement.

Menadione has been linked to Liver cell cytotoxicity, Weakened immune systems, Potential mutagenic effects, Damage to natural Vitamin K cycle, Hemolytic anemia and jaundice, Direct toxicity in high doses, Irritation of the skin and mucous membranes.

Thank You Robert for this info, Yes take heed on the two foods mentioned up there by Mars if you read the article I posted on ethoxyquin you will see those names listed there also. No wonder Lucky started barfing on Nutro. I was told the receipe changed, sure did, they added all the garbage I quess.

The Australian Nutro Natural Choice doesnt have added vitamin K, or menadione. Also, canned food is less likely to require added Vitamin k, as Vit K tends to be lost in processes to make dried foods but is stable in canning processes. I you want to avoid it you will need to check ingredients as not all products by particular maufacturers will have menadione (including Nutro) as added nutrients will not always be required. I think we often forget that manufacturing destroys lots of nutrients, esp when the food is formed (like kibble) and requires longevity.

Wow, I didn't know this, thanks for posting. I will be looking out for that from now on!

I feed nutro natural choice lamb and rice, and Sandstorm does very well on it. His breeder feeds it to all her dogs, and her dogs live to age 15- she has been breeding and raising shelties for 30 years.
