I actually have 3 feet of snow outside right now and its snowing again...The door is surprisingly weather proof. The wet floors are not a problem becuase I have a deck which on the way in from the yard stops some of the mud/wet, and I have a mat on the inside of the dog door.
Is she having anxiety because she cant go out? Do you have a porch or deck you can contain her on for a few hours aday? That way she is out but in still somewhat of a safe area?
I'm not totally certain that it is anxiety, I guess it could be excitement but I don't think so. Yes, she seems to be having anxiety from not being allowed to be out in the snow. She paces around and whines for hours on end.
We do have a back porch but I cannot leave her outside unattended. My husband and I both work out of town so there would be no one to let her back in if the weather got bad and I think it would be too cold for her anyway. Plus she chews on thing when she's not crated. During nice weather we left her in the back yard for the day and she chewed our brand new cedar stairs that my husband built.
If she is having anxiety brought on by being obsessed with snow, I can't see it being a good thing giving her what she wants? Then again, how do you not when the obsession is snow?
