Obsessed About Snow

I actually have 3 feet of snow outside right now and its snowing again...:rolleyes2: The door is surprisingly weather proof. The wet floors are not a problem becuase I have a deck which on the way in from the yard stops some of the mud/wet, and I have a mat on the inside of the dog door.
Is she having anxiety because she cant go out? Do you have a porch or deck you can contain her on for a few hours aday? That way she is out but in still somewhat of a safe area?

I'm not totally certain that it is anxiety, I guess it could be excitement but I don't think so. Yes, she seems to be having anxiety from not being allowed to be out in the snow. She paces around and whines for hours on end.

We do have a back porch but I cannot leave her outside unattended. My husband and I both work out of town so there would be no one to let her back in if the weather got bad and I think it would be too cold for her anyway. Plus she chews on thing when she's not crated. During nice weather we left her in the back yard for the day and she chewed our brand new cedar stairs that my husband built.

If she is having anxiety brought on by being obsessed with snow, I can't see it being a good thing giving her what she wants? Then again, how do you not when the obsession is snow?

ahhh I see your point. I dont let mine out when I am not home..thank goodness im a slave to them and always home LOL!!! The only solution I see to this problem is a playmate:wink2:

Yeah, we're planning on getting a playmate for her, the pup will be a half sister/brother to Sadie. Her Mom is due to go into heat any time now so if all goes well we should have a pup around early summer. We're just trying to maintain our sanity until the nice weather and pup arrive :smile2:

Don't feel alone, my two go in and out like crazy, and do everything in it too.

I thought well we are leaving the cold in again, my gas and electric bill will show how many times these two of mine have gone out and back in. Right now they are smart enough to stay close to the patio with alllll the ice in the yard. We have had the most bizarre weather in 2008 and now 2009.

Thank you! Its funny you say that. I love her face but my husband wishes desperately for one with white down the nose. Maybe the next pup! :smile2:

Sadie's Mom is sisters with, and out of the same litter as the girl in the link below. She's just as pretty but hasn't had much of a show career. Apparently Sassy just doesn't like being showed. I was very proud to discover that she has some of Goldenhylite's The Phantom in her. :smile2:

And this is Sadie's gorgeous Dad:

I swear her face has her Mom's colouring but her expression looks exactly like her Dad's, so happy and smiley :smile2:

I was going to suggest that Granite has 9 puppies available.....if you were to take them, it make take the pressure off me!  (Barb, walk away from the puppies, walk away from the puppies!)

[Granite runs barefoot through the snow scattering pictures of puppy faces with white blazes and singing "its snowing puppies, hallelujah its snowing puppies..."
