Other good starters besides poultry?

rabbit is a good starter food, but can be a bit pricey if you are not raising it and processing it yourself. :hide

yeah, it is pricey! It's so lean that I don't feel like the price makes it beneficial enough. But once we get our land, I plan to raise them for the dogs' food. We plan to raise chickens, ducks, rabbits, and goats. That way we know for sure what diet they were given and how they were taken care of.

It is very lean unless you have an older rabbit that you are processing, they tend to have a little more fat in them.

Toffee is definitely allergic to chicken...
but it seems to be more with cooked chicken, I have to make sure he doesn't get any treats from table from roomie or neighbour who slips him treats :gaah
But all in all everything is much better since raw food!!

In the beginning I found a lot of red meat without bones were the worse culprit for runny poop, lol
But just do it, cold turkey... I plagued around with kibble and raw and fiddled and faddled, when I didn't need to for months! I don't feed vegetables of any kind tho, no need for them

Good luck, you're gonna love it

We started already, I have a post under the name of Pebbles progress. She is doing great and handling it well. No chicken allergies with the raw chicken and her poop seems fine. :) I am giving her peas and nori though, because she loves both and I dont see why not!
