Our First Title - AKC Jumpers

Akc

Thank you!

I downloaded the AKC regulations and I think it works like this... if you haven't titled a dog in AKC, you start in Novice A. When you get a title in a class (JWW or STD), you can switch to Novice B or move up to Open in that class.

If you get your Novice A title in JWW, but not in Standard yet, you still have to switch to Standard Novice B, because you now have a title.

I'll double check with my trainer, but that's what it seems like to me.

You are right Randi you do move into Novice B for standard and I thought I knew my rules.Guess I don't.There is no difference in the course though you will run the same course as Novice B.AKC just changed the Execellent B class to be called Masters and will change it on the premiums when you enter a trial. Are you going to put Bailey in Open? Here we call Open pergatory.:ick

Congratulations on the NAJ title!

I think this has been covered already but for your Novice Standard, you need to move to Novice B since you now have an AKC agility title. You'll stay in Nov B Standard until you earn the remainder of your Novice Qs to finish the NA title.

For jumpers, you can stay in Novice B JWW (you won't earn another title since the NAJ title is the same whether you are in Nov A or Nov B) for practice or you can move to Open JWW.

Thanks! I already requested to move up to Open JWW & Nov B STD.

I am looking forward to running standard again. Out of our 4 trials, we only entered standard twice. We do need to practice the chute & teeter before the trial.

I'm also a little nervous about Open JWW. Lately, Bailey has been popping out at the 10th or 11th pole, so need to work on weaves. I might have to look into getting her adjusted. I'm also worried about the difficulty of the course. I'm terrible at memorizing courses. I hope I don't get lost.
