Our Nationals Experience Video

Well we made it back after a Chevy Chase summer Vacation, survived a double blowout on the 401 at 65 mph in the motorhome that tore out the wheel well and blew a 6 inch hole in the RV floor , a 6 hour delay, replaced all the tires on the motorhome EXPENSIVE, but now safe and repaired. The alternator that I had rebuilt before we left died in the mountains of Vermont stranding us for 4 days while repairs were completed so we became tourists stayed in Motels ate in restaurants and rented a nice truck to get around while we waited for repairs on our Mobile home to be completed, thank god for fat lines of Credit LOL. then I hit a gas pump barrier and dinged poor old George a little, I can repair the damage easy enough and have ordered the parts required to fix him up already. AS far as the Nationals went it was a great experience but a disaster for us as a team, Storm and I were both really off our game, I was hoping to finish mid pack, we finished dead last in the 16" regular division, ITs a long story but not a stellar performance for either of us when she was running good MY handling was off and when I was on she was off, but a great experience none the less, Back to normal trialing now for the next while, one next weekend and another in 2 weeks.

Anyway here's a video of our Vacation that my Son put together from pictures we e mailed home while onroute its a bit long but enjoy Considering all the Crap we endured we did LOL.

"Life is a Highway" - I LOVE IT!!!! Your son couldn't have picked a better song as far as I see. I'll tell you what I was thinking as I read your post:

Bad thing happened - not quite as bad thing happened - oops, another bad thing - so-so thing here (not bad, not good) - BUT WE HAD FUN!!! Overall sounds like a great trip to me. The downer stuff just makes for a better sounding story when the family retells it later. And the best thing of all is that you each recognized it not only after, but during the trip as well. Congrats on a wonderful trip.

I'm looking forward to watching the video when the broadband speed is better :pop but that certainly sounds like a very 'eventful' trip! :eek2:

ok- now I'm hungry:winkgrin:
lots of candy pix- would like some chocolate now

oh yeah- the agility pix were pretty cool too:yes:

looks like a great trip.....

Nice video & so glad to see you can keep a sense of humor about the negatives that happened. I did Rally & Obedience with Trace - scared to death of actually competing in Agility - you have my respect!

As the saying goes, well d___ the bad luck! I am certainly glad no one was hurt in any of your "adventures", now all you can say is you got all the bad stuff out of the way on one trip and from now on it will all be smooth sailing. Loved the video, looked like you both were having a good time. :fl

what a great video :D
I bet your granddaughters are never going to forget the roadtrip, neither will you, of course! Pictures are beautiful, I love the Atlantic Provinces, of course I am biased ;)

The weather was so darn ROTTEN half of Nationals, it was really crazy. I was exhausted after three days, I kept seeing if I could see you, but I didn't, I was so busy ring crewing in the mud n rain... The classes were so long... I was never in ring 5 but there were a LOT of Shelties to look at, lol... if I had seen the lil honourary Sheltie Pom I may have put together two and two, lol

I went again on Saturday just to visit and not volunteer, got to see my friend got second in steeplechase with her Sheltie Mocha, I am so terribly happy with her run.

As I was saying to some other competitors who told me they didn't have the greatest runs, HEY it's the Nationals you and your dog deserve to be here!!
