We welcomed a new addition to our family today. “Bonnie’s Gaelic Duncan Laddie” came home from the breeder today. At 8 weeks old, Duncan is a beautiful sheltie, mostly black & white, with a dash of tan around his muzzle, chin and eyebrows. He’s very alert, curious and playful. He’s already tried to play with our cavalier king charles spaniel, who looked at us like ‘What’s this?’, and with one of our cats. He has a good appetite and has only pottied outside so far (I know, it won’t last).
After losing our beloved basset hound Archie last month, it’s nice to have another puppy running around the house. We’ve owned bassets for many years & have been active in basset rescue all through the midwest. After Archie, though, we just didn’t have the heart to get another basset this time. After much research, my husband and I decided to try a dog that’s probably smarter than either of us. It’ll be interesting to see how that works out over the next few months.
More later….
