Our runs from this weekend

Great videos. He just flies around that course! I don't think time is ever going to be his enemy :biggrin2:

Your daughter is an awesome handler. I wish I could get my kids interested. That would be so fun to watch and it'd be nice to have company at the trials.

Is it just me or did he slip a bit on the dogwalk? It almost looks like one back leg might have slipped off...maybe that's why he did the creep-walk for the rest of the way...?

Sigh. Love his weaves. We have weave issues. Can I send Clancy over to train with Maverick?

(FYI: The first jumpers video of Jordan and Maverick is missing--the link goes to their standard run).

How did Jordan feel after the trial? Hopefully she was able to feel good about how Maverick is doing. They are very green and honestly look great! Lots of good stuff out there.

Trax reminds me of Lexi in that he doesn't need very much forward motion at all and he goes rocketing way out with no collection  I did notice that you usually wait for him to get his weave entrance and then run. Any reason for that?

You guys looked really good, though, despite the shortage of Qs.

I'll have to check out the link I messed up.

Jordan felt good about everything. We are both kinda confused as to why he's not doing the weaves. I took him outside last night and he hit them every time with no hesitation. I told her she needs to work with him every single day and not occasionally and maybe he won't be so wound up next time at a show.

As for my weaves, that's the way I was taught. I was taught to let him find his entry rather than being on top of the poles. Now if I don't catch up to him by halfway through he could look back for me and accidentally pop out, so I run up to him. Letting him find his entry on his own also helps so that I can cross behind the poles without him freaking out.

Kai used to do that at the weaves... Along with a bark down. Do you normally train somewhere much tighter than the trial? Some dogs have trouble figuring out how to collect and hit them when they are able to get going that much faster.

No, they have done indoor, outdoor, large and small fields with the weaves. I think the problem is his extreme excitement out there and that he doesn't wanna slow down.

Thanks so much for sharing all of the videos!

I do the same - otherwise Starr enters with way too much speed and ends up popping out.

I just LOVE the fact that you and your daughter do this together. What a great way to spend a weekend :smile2:.
