Panting

Can you provide more information about your sheltie? For example, how old is your sheltie, how long has it been panting for?

When you say constantly, do you literally mean constantly? Or is it after exertion, or after meals, or when excited, etc?

It would be a good idea to have a vet check your Sheltie out. Some pant a lot--mine panted *constantly* when I got him four years ago--made me crazy. Both his very reputable breeder and the vet assured me he was fine...he is. And he pants less now, although he still does it quite a bit when excited...which is quite often.

My Baker pants quite a bit also - especially after playing ball - which he will do as long as you continue throwing it.

Cody panted a lot, and Zulu does it too. Zulu does it mostly during the day when he is active. Once he settles down in the evening, not so much, and when he does, his mouth is barely open.

Minnie - puffing not very much, only if she, for example, has been playing wildly around in the garden.
